The Streets of Europe collection is by far the most difficult ongoing project that I'm working on. "Street" photography to my way of thinking is the capturing of candid shots of real people in real moments. Creating a solid composition while capturing a "decisive moment" as Henri Cartier-Bresson called it, is a rare thing. One can walk the cities and neighborhoods of any European locale for hours and hours and miss the right timing by seconds. It's not hard to fail. Succeeding is rare. It is exceptionally difficult to create great images of people while moving naturally through a city or town on foot. So, the shots you see here are the result of days, weeks and months of exploring on foot, camera always at the ready.
These are real people living their lives, and in most cases, they were unaware that I was taking a photograph. The timeless nature of black and white here adds to the mystery. I hope you enjoy this project as much as I do.
All images can be purchased securely on the web site, but if you see an image that you like but the print size (or type) is not shown, please email me. I want to make sure that everyone who loves my work can find a way to hang it on their wall.
